Breaking: AFL-CIO Endorses Nationwide Boycott of Palermo’s Products
The AFL-CIO endorsed a nationwide boycott of
(Palermo Villa Inc.) in response to the company’s blatant disregard of its workers’ choice to form a union. The boycott covers Palermo’s brand pizza, “Classics” brand pizza and private-label brand frozen pizza produced by Palermo’s, including Costco’s Kirkland brand. This endorsement is part of the continued support for the efforts of the Palermo Workers Union by the United Steelworkers and the AFL-CIO, community and immigrant rights groups like Voces de la Frontera and students from the United States Student Association, the nation’s largest and oldest student-led organization.
AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said:
The twelve million union families of the AFL-CIO are proud to stand with these Wisconsin workers who have bravely joined together for a voice on the job….Their courage and strength are a model for working people around the country whose rights are being violated and voices silenced. We hope that this boycott will encourage Palermo to finally respect its workers who work so hard for them every day.

WUPN: We have to wonder who the AFL-CIO is really for? The workers for more jobs or money for dues? In our opinion, we support a nationwide push to buy Palermo Pizza to support jobs, and support Palermo Pizza. Did the unions not learn their lessons in Wisconsin the past year and a half?
Buy Palermo Pizza’s!

Palermo’s hired Burmese refugees as replacement workers. They’ll hire anybody who they feel can be taken advantage of.
Sure, buy as much as you can eat. The workers are forced to make those pizzas when they are ill. Even with a doctor’s excuse, they were still getting fired for calling in sick.
That’s one of the many reasons why they are on strike.
If you like sick people making pizzas, Palermo’s is for you. Please don’t feed it to your children though.
And if you find pieces of fingers, that’s because Palermo’s doesn’t want to spend money replacing defective guards on the machinery.
Bon(e) appetite!
