Needs vs. Wants?
Pulaski referendum on November ballot
School board approves motion
PULASKI – Residents in the Pulaski Community School District will see a $33.2 million referendum on the November ballot.
The school board approved that motion Wednesday night.
If this referendum passes, that would mean around an $82 increase for every $100,000 property value.
Already, the community seems split on the issue.
The school board was greeted with a packed house Wednesday night.
Officials say nearly every school in the district would receive property and technology upgrades through the referendum.
Around $12 million would go toward a new pool and a multi-purpose sport complex.

Supporting a referendum for maintenance and to upgrade technology is not in question. Supporting over 10 million dollars for a pool and sports complex in these tough economic times is another. Without splitting the questions into needs vs. wants, I don’t see how Pulaski Schools will get the “Yes” they are looking for.
