Gil Martin Back as Harvick’s Crew Chief

Shane Wilson has been replaced by Gil Martin as Kevin Harvick‘s crew chief effective immediately.

Martin had been Harvick’s crew chief since the 2009 season before being replaced by Wilson at the end of 2011.

Wilson and Harvick have struggled this season and the No. 29 Richard Childress Racing team is winless after 23 races.

Martin helped guide Harvick to two straight third place finishes in the Sprint Cup Series standings and in recent weeks has spent time in the team’s pit box alongside Wilson.
