Time for hope and change
Measure incumbent president on his first four years
It’s a bit lamentable that presidential elections have become so important in our lives. It is a sad testament to the power and control that we, as a people, have ceded to our national government. But who we select as our highest elected official is important, and making a good choice matters to us all. The choice is made less difficult when an incumbent president is on the ballot because we have the luxury of evaluating what the president has done with his charge for his first term. In this case, President Obama’s record is looking fairly dismal.
Our nation elected President Obama on a promise of hope and change. While we have seen a fair amount of change, it has not been for the better and there is little hope that it will get better, if we continue with his policies.

With his family by his side, Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th president of the United States by Chief Justice of the United States John G. Roberts, Jr. in Washington, D.C., Jan. 20, 2009. More than 5,000 men and women in uniform are providing military ceremonial support to the presidential inauguration, a tradition dating back to George Washington’s 1789 inauguration.
