What we learned about Detroit Lions in Friday’s exhibition
5:24 PM, August 11, 2012Five things we learned from the Lions’ 19-17 preseason-opening loss to the Browns:
Great expectations: Jim Schwartz had reason to be ticked Friday. The Lions were sloppy at times, out of sync, and it’s never good to lose a lead in the final minute. Mostly though, his irascibility showed just how high his expectations are this year.
Deep end: Cliff Avril and Kyle Vanden Bosch didn’t play Friday, but Willie Young (one sack) and Everette Brown (1 1/2 sacks) had good days pass rushing. With Lawrence Jackson and Ronnell Lewis also in the mix, the Lions are deeper at defensive end than first thought.
