Bad Politics

Today, Romney and the RNC disenfranchised Conservative and Libertarian voters across the country in their heavy-handed power grab at the Republican National Convention. The result is that the states are weaker and the national party is stronger. This seems to be a continuation of what we have seen under George Bush.

Apparently, many in the party, including Reince Priebus, have not learned the lessons of the 2010 election that the party wants a limited Constitutional party and government. Limited government Conservatives and Libertarians were angered and felt betrayed.

To the Republican establishment I hope you realize you have, through your bad politics of authoritarianism at the convention, harmed yourself. Many Libertarians and limited government Conservatives will not be able to look past the insults and blatant breaking of the rules perpetrated by you. Many will, no doubt, support the libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, who appears to be a great man who would have caused you a lot more pain if he would have been able to self finance.

I hope the moderate, mushy center of our party learns to fight and trash Democrats with half the passion they have shown going after limited government Conservatives and Libertarians.

WUPN: We have to wonder if the conservative, libertarian voters will sit quietly if more power is taken away from them from the GOP? Time will tell if the GOP will try to strangle the voice of conservatives  and libertarians in this country. The future of the republican party hinges on the right and not in the center or left center of voters.
