Isn’t Michigan the the home of the original GM, Ford and Chrysler?

Smart Cars Being Tested In Michigan
Wednesday, August 22, 2012 7 a.m. EDT

ANN ARBOR (WTVB) – The U.S. Department of Transportation is starting a year-long test of so-called “smart cars” today in Ann Arbor. Three-thousand cars, trucks and buses have been equipped with Wi-Fi-like technology that allows the vehicles to “talk” to each other and to highway devices, warning drivers to avoid collisions.

WUPN: So why are Smart cars being tested in Michigan? It would be nice if American made cars were testing in Michigan. Daimler may own smart but why not American made first? Sorry, we forgot who is president. The people of Michigan must feel proud.

It will be interesting to see accident statistics a year after the project starts. Especially the death fatality count.
