Escanaba man shot

ESCANABA — Escanaba Public Safety is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at an apartment complex on the City’s north side Sunday night.

At approximately 10:30p.m. Officers were summoned after a 911 call into Central Dispatch alerting authorities to a male subject that had just been shot.

Officers located a 20-year-old Escanaba man lying on the floor in the apartment with a gunshot wound to the face. Rampart ambulance personnel initially transported the victim to OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba and later to Marquette General Hospital for further treatment.

Officers detained a 26-year-old Escanaba man suspected of being the one responsible for the shooting. The suspect was brought to Public Safety, interviewed, and ultimately arrested on a weapons offense.
